Is there something going on in Hello! Project?

No matter how you look at it, too many people are leaving, right?

Downsizing.
LoVendoR’s Uozumi also left.

This is the result of taking in a large amount of Kenshuusei without thinking about it, then recklessly firing off new units of them with no consideration.

Shimamura – 14 years old
Fukuda – 20 years old
Sayashi – 18 years old
Kanon – 17 years old
Tamura – 17 years old
Inaba – 18 years old

Their ages at the time they left.

LoVendoR’s Uozumi announced her graduation
The possibility arises that three members of Tsubaki might withdraw
Up Up Girls and Kikkawa are being driven out of Up Front
Inaba has graduated

The liquidation of musical enterprises in Up Front is continuing on. There’s probably more to come.

It comes as a shock to hear about UUG being expelled, is that true?
Well they joined Hello Pro when they were in first grade, then were downsized when they were in middle school… Even though they’re still minors, won’t this be their second time being victims of downsizing? lol

Tentatively it seems like that’s happening in Up Front.
The details are unknown.

I think what’s happening now is something like “voluntary retirement,” so to speak. People who want who do something else with their lives are leaving quickly so they can pull away faster.

64:名無し募集中。。。@\(^o^)/2016/08/04(木) 23:00:56.89 ID:0.net
Since the potential of those three Tsubaki members graduating is high…

Dude, you can’t read at all.
On yesterday’s Hello Station, the very first thing they showed was Tsubaki’s PV, so there’s no way there will be a graduation.
The members who won’t be in the stage play are the girls who live far away, in Hokkaido, Aichi, and Osaka.

。゚(゚´Д`゚)゚。 It’s been so long since I’ve made a post here that my translation skills are really lacking… so my translations might be off. I really don’t know what to say about the rumors of UUG, Kikka, and Tsubaki, but they are just rumors (I think…) so don’t read into it too much. I’m sorry for translating such a depressing thread, but after Manakan leaving, that’s FOUR of my oshimen graduating in the past 8 months or so. (*´﹃`*) I’m sure I’ll get over it in time… but it does feel a little scary now.

What do you think? Is everyone exaggerating and worrying over nothing? Will this be the end of sudden departures? Or is this… the beginning of the end?  (゜o゜)!!

  1. Thanks for the translation! An interesting topic that just keeps growing as more and more girls from different groups keep leaving for different reasons after an era of many groups blossoming.

Maybe with Tsunku stepping down, the new main producer/director (whatever position) thought branching out and expanding to as many groups as possible was the best choice after keeping H!P rather small for so long compared to the past.

In that sense, with an unstable company full of teenage girls who may want to quit and move on, it seems like a smart move. They are humans, and they’re young and it’s probably hard for them to tell if they want to commit to something like this for a long period of time. I mean that in terms of making new groups, not in terms of recent long-time graduates like Riho/Kanon/Mei.) But it kinda sucks for the H!P brand in general.

I feel like it’s weird for Tsubaki to be in their indies phase for so long when Kobushi was debuted almost immediately, but maybe they took into consideration that these girls need a longer test run. Which I think is kind of nice for them, to get to take it slow while they adapt.

You know what else? They’ve really been pushing nearly empty audition results, sticking the finalists in KSS, and suddenly picking new members from there instead. Again, that works, but… it’s crappy for H!P as a whole when there are few H!P audition winners lately and the whole process is a lie. It seems like when a girl leaves lately for whatever reason, the company’s immediate concern is shoving a girl from KSS in to fill the gap. Almost encouraging and reassuring for the group’s stability if someone is worried about leaving, though.

Things have certainly changed since Tsunku has retired as producer. I wrote a whole bunch, huh.
Anyway, if a bunch of girls were suddenly leaving with no “real” reason, or all just a general “want to focus on their studies”, I might be worried then. Because to me, that means a bunch of girls who pursued their dream job suddenly want out fast and probably are not on the greatest terms with UFA. But all of the recently departed girls had their eyes set on mostly specific goals (other than Uta), and Manakan of course has to watch her health.

There really are currently so many girls of various ages, experience, stamina, and with girls joining here and there, I think it would be pretty hard to keep every group stable at this point. Not that it’s impossible.

i wrote a lot but i think this topic has so much factors to it, we’ll never know unless someone speaks publicly about it!!!!!

  2. Well, Yuki (Lovendor) and Manaka news came so sudden that i expected. I don’t know if it’s a plot twist or just coincidentally. But one thing for sure, there were also new members joined. I can simply summarize that this is just a “normal” period of h!p and upfront.

  3. Man, I’ve got to disagree with the premise from the get-go. Hello! Project has ballooned in the last two years. Berryz Koubou and a few individual graduations are the minus, and one was health-related and out of anyone’s control. That makes about a dozen people? But look at how many have been added in the same time: Morning Musume 12th gen; ANGERME 3rd, 4th, and 5th gen; two generations of Country Girls; Kobushi Factory; Tsubaki Factory. About 30 people.

Hello! Project is now around 50 people, without considering Kenshuusei. From this point out they’ve got a few options: 1) At least a half dozen graduations a year. 2) No room for new members. 3) Continuing to balloon.
